JR and Heenan are both wearing togas to complete the ‘Roman empire’ theme for the night. Macho wears his usual extravagant ‘Macho Man’ attire, but only a tad more gay with the purple and gold. Hey wait a minute, those are WCW colors! Continue reading ‘WrestleMania IX’

WCW/NWA World Tag Team Champions: Ricky Steamboat & Shane Douglas (11/18/1992)
WCW World Television Champion: vacant (11/1/1992)

Right off the bat, Eric Bischoff announces alongside Missy Hyatt that Ron Simmons is out with a shoulder injury and that Maxx Payne will get his US title shot instead. After that disturbing news, Missy says that she’s going to get a big interview later on in the evening with GUESS WHO! Johnny B. Badd makes an appearance to talk about how great he thinks WCW is. That new deal he signed must’ve been really something. Maxx Payne plays the national anthem on his axe. He’s got nothing on Jimi Hendrix. NOW LET’S HOOK EM UP!

Your hosts are Tony Schiavone and Jesse Ventura. Continue reading ‘Superbrawl III’

So long Prime Time Wrestling, it’s time to get RAW!

On the last episode of PTW, it was announced that Bobby Heenan would not be a part of the Raw debut because he’s been replaced! Good thing Sean Mooney is there to stop him from going in.

Your hosts are Vince McMahon, Randy Savage and Rob Bartlett (comedic radio personality). One of those WTF moments looking back. Not as bad as Mongo on Nitro, but still pretty bad. Continue reading ‘Monday Night Raw (01.11.93)’

WCW World Television Champion: vacant (11/1/1992)

We start off with a clip from last week’s WCW Saturday Night when Vader and Barry Windham WHIPPED the Stinger with the leather strap like they would a black man some 100 years before. Good thing they chose to go with Sting instead of Ron Simmons! As if hinting that black guys had thicker skulls than white folks wasn’t enough for the last forty years, that would’ve been crossing some serious barriers!

Your hosts are Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko. Continue reading ‘Power Hour (02.06.93)’
